Tooth Extraction
Broken-down/infected teeth sometimes are unable to be treated with conventional root canal therapy.
Removing a severely broken down/infected tooth will be beneficial to improving oral health and indeed whole-body health if the infection has been present for a long time. But this is not the end of the world! Here at Greenlane Dental, we are built to perform, having state of the art equipment coupled with high experience which can detect this type of work. There are many replacement options to restore function & aesthetics ranging from implants to bridges or partial dentures.
To break it down, there are TWO types of extractions:
After the extraction, someone will need to drive you home and stay there with you just to monitor how you are doing. You will be given post-surgery instructions. It is very important that you follow them accurately. This will minimise any post operation uncertainties.
Dry socket – We put special ointment/material we place in the socket to encourage healing of the socket and leave with a script of antibiotics and pain relief as well helping to manage pain post operation/ treatment.
This can be decided between you and our dentists depending on your medical history health/status.
We are also providing each patient with a treatment plan that’s customized to their procedures or work that needs to be done. This will include steps on what to do before and after each appointment which will help them minimise any uncertainties that could occur.
